what is a good place for a first date?

im a 14 year old guy (freashman in highschool) and im thinking of asking someone out, but i dont where to go and i dont have a car so i couldnt really pick her up. So should i just say meet me at the place and get dropped off by my mom? because that would be kind of weird.... any tips???
