Losing my virginity-- A few questions.?

I\'m an 18 year old virgin based on principle. I didn\'t want to lose my virginity when I was still legally considered a \"child\". So I\'m kinda behind the curve in the experience area. I just want to know if losing my virginity now on a first date or one night fling is really considered to be gross, desperate or scandalous? I know people who have had sex before don\'t seem to mind one night stands-- so is it really that different if that\'s how I lose my virginity?

Some additional questions:

Am I going to be inexplicably attached to this guy after wards?
Is it going to be really awkward because I\'m a virgin?
Will guys not want me if they find out I\'m a virgin?
How long does sex usually last?

I\'m hoping whoever answers this isn\'t going to be all morally high-and-mighty. I\'m asking this because I want to know so that I can make an educated decision, not so that someone can insult me.
